ADOLESCENT THERAPY GROUPS
Groups are a natural habitat for adolescents
making group therapy a more desirable choice for some teens than other forms of treatment.

Some of the normal developmental tasks of adolescence include separating from family of origin, consolidating an individual identity, and learning to work and play in a culture of peers. As a result, group therapy as a treatment for adolescents utilizes the natural environment of teens, the peer group, to offer an opportunity for emotional and social learning.

Current Adolescent Groups:
- High School Girls Group, Grades 10-12,
Wednesdays 3:45 - 5:15 p.m.
- High School Girls Group, Grades 9-10:
focus on adjustment to high school, fitting in, and related vulnerabilities in self esteem and sense of identity (forming)

INTERPERSONAL GROUP THERAPY FOR ADULTS
Most people are shaped by a deep desire to
be known, seen, and recognized

Group therapy understands these critical components and provide a safe space to develop these needs in a way that promotes growth, security, and overall health.  In group therapy adults have the opportunity to learn about patterns in their relationships which have contributed to difficulties in the workplace, friendships, intimate relationships and other areas of their lives.

Group therapy can provide an adjunctive therapy to individual treatment that is synergistic and works towards the individual's goals sometimes more quickly, but also in a deeper way. Adults who have been in individual therapy can sometimes benefit by following their individual treatment with group.
